Over the past 2 years I have been asked to redirect portfolios and books for a bunch of amazing photographers. As a Creative Director who has seen hundreds of books come across my desk at the companies I used to work for both in Advertising and in the music industry, I know what I like to see, then, being on the flip side as someone who also shows my photo-illustration and design books around, I have been able to help the direction and flow of these great photographers and find the “story” or “thread” that runs through the work. I want the books to tell stories through common elements, whether they be a color or subject matter or even shape. Its amazing how the stories emerge and create a great flow.
